TPoL Mission Statement

The Tea Party of Louisiana (TPoL) is dedicated to returning America to a government

“of the people, by the people, and for the people…”

as enshrined in principle in the Declaration of Independence and codified in our Constitution and Bill of Rights. 

THE FOUR OBJECTIVES THAT DEFINE US

We need numbers to put pressure on both Washington and our local legislators. Through television, radio and town hall meetings all over the state – the Tea Party of Louisiana is working hard to attract newcomers to our group. We’re also seeking college aged voters who will create new Tea Party Groups on college campuses in Louisiana.

The Tea Party of Louisiana will positively support bills that reverse the Federal Government’s agenda. To this end, we will actively influence Louisiana Representatives and Senators to introduce bills that reduce the size and role of government. And we shall persuade these same Legislators to co-sponsor bills that have already been proposed.

The Tea Party of Louisiana must demonstrate the strength of our membership by demanding that our state legislators vote according to our directives. And not their own. We will publicly begin the Recall Process on any Louisiana State Legislator who does not vote in a manner consistent with his or her people. And in the upcoming elections, the Tea Party of Louisiana will support and campaign on behalf of candidates who truly want small government and a return to the Constitution.

Aristotle once said, “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it”. We must not shy away, as an organization, from learning as much as possible about what is really going on in Washington. One of the greatest missions of the Tea Party of Louisiana is to educate others about the tyranny we all face together.
