Marie Therese Coincoin Metoyer, a slave who owned a hundred or so slaves was born in 1742, lived in Natchitoches Parish and became a VERY SUCCUSSFUL AND WEALTHY BUSINESSWOMAN. Her parents were from Africa and they were once all slaves in the 1700’s. Marie Therese Coincoin Metoyer passed away at the age of 74 in 1816. Her story is testament of the greatness of her abilities, her freedom, and a most wonderful State of Louisiana that apparently didn’t slow her down or diminish her wealth. It is paramount that our citizenry know our History!
Marie Therese’s freedom came more than 70 years before the Emancipation Proclamation of the Civil War and 178 years before women of any color could vote!
I applaud Rep. Valerie Hodges and Rep. Mike Johnson who know the greatness within our people and our founding documents as well as the Great State of Louisiana.
Our leaders need to be JUBILANT over the greatness in our state and nation instead of continually whining over same.

Today, July 4th, we celebrate the birth of our nation – or do we??? Most Baby Boomer & older Americans have memories of wonderful Independence Days past. The sad truth is we are living in a post liberty America. People in the Tea Party movement will remember the words of the Declaration of Independence. But few of the millennial generation have even read that document; much less remember its words, as for two generations now, we have taught our children revisionist or politically correct history--like the strange idea that our Founding Fathers risked their lives out of greed or self-interest, or that they intended our interpretation of the Constitution to “evolve” over time. As a result of this failure to teach the truth about our history, we are beginning to see our nation’s memory of the past slip away--especially the values and principles for which our founders actually fought.
Ask yourself: Do we really honor today the courageous patriots who cast off the chains of despotism, abolishing our bond to an unjust government??? And do we truly remember our forefathers who fought and died for the principles of self-governance and self-determination??? 2) Poverty – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
Tax Increases, Excessive Regulatory Burden, Predatory Legal Climate, Encourage Manufacturing to Move to Third World Countries, Enviro-Lunacy
3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
Deficit Spending, Quantitative Easing, Fiat Currency, Abandon Gold Standard
4) Gun Control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income).

Clearly the Democrat Party has been transformed since the 1960's by its leaders and elected politicians to its current majority mixture today of Progressive Socialists; Fascists; Marxist and Communists. They are about as far away from our Democratic Republic form of government and our founding Constitution as you can get!!!
And also know, the Establishment Republican RINOs who currently are in leadership of the Republican Party are just about as bad as they are the epitome of Big Government Fascists (or at best Crony Capitalists) interested only in their own and their Big Government, Big Business and Lobbyist associates self interest!!!

Is this the the definition of a representative government? I thought that bills were to be read before passing? I guess it doesn't matter since they aren't required to have the same kind of healthcare that was shoved down The People's throats. The massive 2400+ page healthcare bill can be downloaded here. This will take a little time to download. At the bottom of page 1312 you will see the provisions embedded in the healthcare bill for the Ready Corps civilian army. What does this have to do with healthcare? Isn't this the function of the National Guard? Where were the Republicans to point these kinds of things out to the people? I will ask again. Is this the definition of a representative government?
Correction: The Ready Corps portion of the healthcare was amended, not created.
The phrase “is amended” should have alerted readers that this section already exists in law — and actually has existed for over 60 years. In 1964, Lyndon Johnson restructured the Ready Reserve Corps by executive order as a deployable response team reporting to the Surgeon General for disaster relief. Read more here.
